How can I prevent the product tour from being shown again?
If the Save Product Tour Progress option is disabled, the tour will not be shown again once the user moves past the first step.
If the Stop Showing if User Closes the Tour option is enabled, the user simply needs to click the close (cross) button for the tour to stop being displayed permanently.
Why is my product tour not showing in preview?
First, make sure that Told is correctly installed on your website.
Go to Settings → Installation for your source and click the Verify Installation button.
Alternatively, you can manually check by opening your website, launching your browser’s developer console, and running the following command:
told('debug')
If the installation is working correctly, the issue likely comes from your step targets.
Go to the Target section of each step and verify that:
- The selected ID or class still exists and matches your current HTML structure.
- You are using a stable selector, ideally the identifier provided by us (
told-XXXXXXX). - The URL configuration is correct, especially if your page uses dynamic URLs.
What image ratio should I use?
The product tour allows you to add an image to each step to better illustrate or explain a feature.
Supported formats include PNG, JPEG, SVG, and GIF.
For the best visual result and layout consistency, we recommend using a 4:3 aspect ratio.
