Publish

The Publish tab is where you define who sees your product tour, when it runs, and ship it live. You'll find it as the second top-level tab in the product tour editor (between Content and Results).

A blue Publish button at the top right lets you publish the tour when it's ready.

Layout

The Publish tab has two sub-tabs in the left sidebar:

  • Audience — define who sees the tour
  • Period — define when and how the tour is displayed

Audience

"Define the user to whom you want to display"

The Audience tab has a banner — "Define your audience: Add multiple filters to target the right persona you want to display it to." — followed by two sections.

1. Who do you want to target?

A dropdown that lets you select which audience(s) will see the tour:

  • All audience (default) — the tour is shown to every user
  • If you have created custom audiences at the source level, they appear here as additional options with toggles

Below the dropdown:

  • + Create new one — create a new audience inline
  • A card "Target your users thanks to audiences" with a View audiences button that links to the source's Audience page, where you build and manage audience segments using filters
tip

Audiences are managed at the source level (sidebar Audience). The Publish tab only lets you pick which existing audiences should see the tour. See the Audience documentation for details on creating and managing audiences.

2. What percentage of your audience do you want to target?

A numeric field (0–100, default 100). Use it to roll the tour out gradually — only this percentage of the selected audience will actually see it.

Period

"Define when and how frequently you want to display it."

The Period tab has a banner — "Define your period: Choose when to display and at which frequency" — followed by a Date and recurrence section with two parts.

1. When do you want to launch your in-app survey?

Two options:

OptionDescription
IndefinitelyThe tour runs from the moment you publish until you manually stop it (default)
At a specific time periodThe tour only runs during a fixed date range. Reveals two date pickers: Start date and End date

When At a specific time period is selected, the start date defaults to today and the end date to one month later.

2. Add options to your widget

Three independent toggles that control the tour's display behavior:

OptionDescriptionDefault
Show the tour until completionThe tour will be shown until it is fully completed.Off
Save Product tour progressSave the product tour progress automatically, allowing users to resume later. When disabled, the tour always starts again from the beginning.Off
Stop showing if user closes the tourIf the user closes the tour, it will no longer be shown.Off
tip

Show the tour until completion and Save Product tour progress work well together: the tour keeps appearing and users can pick up where they left off across sessions.

Publishing your tour

When your tour is ready, click the blue Publish button at the top right of the Publish tab.

Once published, the tour is immediately served to users matching your audience and period settings. The status changes from "Pending" to "Live" in the product tours list.
