Opinion scale

The Opinion scale lets respondents rate something on a configurable scale (2 to 10 steps). You can choose between four visual styles — emojis, numbers, stars, or weather icons — and toggle a CSAT mode for customer satisfaction surveys.

This page documents the fields and options that are specific to the Opinion scale type. For the parts that are common to all question types, see Questions, Welcome and Thank you.

Display type

The editor shows a dropdown that lets you pick how the scale is rendered. 4 options:

Display typeVisual
Emoji (default)Coloured emojis from sad/red to happy/green
NumbersPlain numbers (1, 2, 3…)
StarsStar rating
WeatherWeather icons

Scale length

The scale defaults to 5 steps. You can change it to anything from 2 to 10 steps. The display updates immediately as you change the value.

CSAT SCORE mode

Above the display type dropdown, a banner labelled CSAT SCORE with a toggle:

"If your question is a Customer Satisfaction Score, please activate"

Activate this toggle if your Opinion scale represents a CSAT (Customer Satisfaction Score) measurement. This affects how the question is identified in reports.

Animation toggle

Next to the display type dropdown, an Animation toggle (off by default). When enabled, the scale renders with a small animation when the respondent interacts with it.

Labels toggle

A Labels toggle (off by default). When enabled, you can add custom labels under each step of the scale (e.g., "Very dissatisfied" under step 1, "Very satisfied" under step 5).
