User information

The User information question lets you collect contact and personal information from your respondents (name, email, phone, company info, social media URLs, etc.). It comes with a mandatory data policy consent step to comply with privacy regulations like GDPR.

This page documents the fields and options that are specific to the User information type. For the parts that are common to all question types, see Questions, Welcome and Thank you.

info

This question type does not have a Required toggle.

The editor is split into two numbered sections: Confidentiality and User information.

1. Confidentiality

"Ask your audience for their consent to share their contact information with you."

The first section is about getting consent from your respondents to collect their data. It contains a single field:

  • Paste a link to your data policy — a textbox where you paste the URL of your privacy policy / data policy

A warning callout reminds you that this step is mandatory:

"Asking for data consent is mandatory. Make sure to share the correct information about your data policy so that your audience feels reassured and safe."

2. User information

"Gather key information about your audience."

This section is the actual question content:

  • Question — a custom title (textbox: "Type a custom title...")
  • Description — optional extra details
  • Add a media — image or video

tip

Unlike most other question types, User information has no Duplicate question option. This is because a survey can only have one User information question — duplicating it wouldn't make sense.
